About Me

Lisa Allen

I’m a qualified and HCPC-registered Art Psychotherapist (MA) based in Manchester, working with adults and children of all ages. I have specialist interests in therapeutic parenting, attachment, and trauma.

Before becoming an Art Psychotherapist, I worked for many years as a Specialist Nurse, bringing a wealth of experience, compassion, and clinical understanding into my therapy practice. I’m passionate about supporting people from all backgrounds and identities, and I believe art therapy is an accessible and inclusive form of therapy for everyone.

Art therapy offers a unique way of expressing thoughts and emotions that may be hard to put into words. It can be a powerful and cathartic process—helping people to explore, process, and overcome difficulties, and to feel more empowered about their future. This transformative potential is why I love and value this work so deeply.
